Chevrolet Captiva 7-Seater: Seven Seats with a Sportier Side
There are days when a family needs a practical people mover. There are also days when the road ahead makes you want something with a little more character.
The Chevrolet Captiva 7-Seater is designed to bring those two ideas together.
Its family-oriented side provides the foundation, while its mechanical setup gives the Captiva the character expected of a modern crossover.
At the front, a MacPherson strut suspension works with a torsion beam rear suspension, providing the underpinnings for a vehicle expected to deal with everyday roads and regular family travel.
Stopping power comes from ventilated disc brakes at the front and solid discs at the rear, giving the Captiva disc braking on all four wheels.
Then there are the details drivers can actually see and feel.
The Captiva rides on 215/55 R18 tires fitted to machined two-tone alloy wheels, helping create a stronger crossover stance. Inside, its flat-bottom three-spoke steering wheel lends a sportier touch, while electric power steering helps make everyday maneuvering easier.
The steering wheel also places audio, phone, cruise, and driver-information controls within easy reach, allowing the driver to remain focused on the road while managing frequently used functions.
Together with its 150 PS turbocharged engine and CVT, these elements give the Captiva a character that goes beyond simply carrying seven people.
It still does the practical work expected of a family vehicle. It just approaches that job with a little more crossover attitude.
Seven seats when the family needs them. A sportier side for the person doing the driving.
